The impact of the piece is created through the interplay of both physical object and non-object. Designed for a state-of-the-art regional transit center terminal – a huge transparent EFTE volume of mostly air and light – the sculpture creates artwork in the language of the architecture. Floating through space, GLASS HORIZON projects time-of-day, while internal “glass bells” fills the space with an ambient, site-specific soundscape by composer Phillip Glass.
