The City of El Paso is intrinsically connected to a state of movement. El Paso (The Pass) has historically provided the smoothest, most temperate route for people emigrating from east to west and north to south –facilitating the flow of goods, cattle and culture. The pass even impacts the wind, shaping migratory corridors for birds flying between North and South America.

MIGRATION creates a meaningful and beautiful image of transit. Building from the language of site and region, the sculpture explores the forms, properties and relationships of the wheel, the land and the passage of peoples, creating a symbol of public service.
